First, what kinds of deals are available? Disney vacation deals differ depending upon the time of year and the state of the economy. In 2009, for instance, Disney is offering a promotion which offers one day of free admission to one of the four parks in Disney World or the two parks in Disneyland on your birthday. All you need is to show a valid ID as proof of your birthday and viola-you have free entrance to the magic!

In addition to special promotions such as the birthday deal, which is available to all guests regardless of where you are staying, there are other discounts that are offered only for those who stay on-site. It is important to familiarize yourself with the “seasons” at the Disney resorts/parks. The best discounts are offered in “value season” which typically includes mid-August to mid-November, late November to mid-December, and January (after New Years). Crowds are low at this time of year, so Disney is inclined to attract visitors with deep discounts.
